NEW HAMPSHIRE BREAST CANCER COALITION OFFERS FREE RESOURCE GUIDE

(Lee, NH) - In keeping with its mission to provide information and resources on breast cancer for New Hampshire citizens, the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition (NHBCC) is pleased to offer the newly revised "2006 New Hampshire Breast Cancer Resource Guide." The 109-page booklet is New Hampshire's only comprehensive breast cancer resource guide listing state, regional and national resources to help New Hampshire women and families find reliable breast cancer detection, treatment and recovery services.

The newly revised guide is available free of charge to anyone living or working in New Hampshire. Both individual and larger numbers of copies are available directly from the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition. Copies have been sent to all New Hampshire agencies listed in the guide.

The 2006 "New Hampshire Breast Cancer Resource Guide" lists hospitals, health centers, breast care centers, mammography sites, and volunteer agencies. Also included are retail businesses offering prostheses, wigs, and swimwear. The guide includes a list of free resources, a reading list, reliable Internet web sites, breast cancer support groups and a chapter on regional and national organizations.

According to NHBCC Chair Nancy Ryan, "We have added a new chapter with additional resources to the 2006 resource guide to help low income and uninsured patients. This revision also includes many of New Hampshire's federally qualified community health centers."

New Hampshire's First Lady Dr. Susan Lynch encourages New Hampshire citizens to take advantage of the guide. "Finding reliable information about breast cancer can be a daunting task. This breast cancer resource guide will help New Hampshire women quickly locate the resources and information they need."

Former New Hampshire First Lady and NHBCC Steering Committee member Heather Merrill stresses the importance of education. "NHBCC works hard to provide accurate, reliable information about breast cancer for New Hampshire citizens. Now in its 4th edition, the resource guide is a valuable tool for breast cancer patients, the general public and health care professionals."

For a free copy of the "New Hampshire Breast Cancer Resource Guide," contact your local hospital or clinic or send your address to the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition, 18 Belle Lane, Lee, NH 03861-6438. For larger quantities, contact the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition at (603) 659-3482.
