Governor Lynch Recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Lee National Denim Day in New Hampshire
New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition Chair Nancy Ryan with Governor's Proclamation
Great news! New Hampshire Governor John Lynch, joined on September 28, 2007 by Deputy Speaker of the House Linda Foster and members of the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition, proclaimed Friday, October 5th as Lee National Denim Day and October 2007 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in New Hampshire.

"Breast cancer has affected too many of our families here in New Hampshire. It is critical that we come together to raise awareness about detecting breast cancer early, when it is more treatable, and to support education and research on this important issue," Gov. Lynch said.

This year alone, an estimated 890 New Hampshire women will learn they have breast cancer and 180 will die of it.

Lee National Denim Day unites millions in the fight against breast cancer. Participation is easy. Simply wear your favorite jeans and donate $5.

Funds raised will benefit innovative research in breast cancer treatment and early detection and support the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund's grassroots advocacy efforts.

Since the program's creation in 1996, more than $66 million has been raised for breast cancer research.

Please join Governor Lynch, Representative Foster, and the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition to make Lee National Denim Day the most successful ever!
