National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund Advocacy Conference Keeps On Getting Better
The 2008 NBCCF Annual Advocacy Training Conference surpassed everyone's expectations, once again solidifying the National Breast Cancer Coalition position as the leader in grassroots training for breast cancer advocates.
I urge you to "Save The Date" and mark your calendar now for next year's conference, scheduled for May 2-5, 2009 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.
This year's conference, held from April 26th to April 29th, blended familiar features like the orientation for "first-timers," stimulating plenary panel discussions, workshops, and Lobby Day, with a host of exciting new offerings.
The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCCF) conference reached new heights this year with an Internet "Conference Blog". Through written entries, photographs and videos, the blog captures the energy, passion and expertise that permeated the conference. You can read daily summaries of presentations, see photos of Lobby Day meetings on Capitol Hill, and listen to "Video Diaries" recorded by conference participants. You can check back often for post-conference updates. Browsing the blog will not only educate you, it will convince and remind you to mark your calendar now for next year's conference.
I would like to share with you just three conference highlights that stand out for me.
Many New Hampshire women have attended the NBCCF Annual Advocacy Training Conference. When I ask them to describe the event, they all say it is virtually impossible to put into words -- you really have to be there! I hope you will be there with us -- in May 2009 -- and experience what is truly means to put "Advocacy Into Action." |
