| Annual "Lobby Day" |
 |
The National Breast Cancer Coalition's Annual "Lobby Day" on Capitol Hill offers activists an opportunity to visit national legislators and policy makers to further NBCC's legislative agenda to end the breast cancer epidemic.
"Lobby Day" is the culmination of the National Breast Cancer Coalition's Annual Advocacy Training Conference held in Washington, DC, in early May. The event is attended by hundreds of activists from around the country.
On "Lobby Day," New Hampshire's advocates spend a full day on Capitol Hill. They meet with legislators and their health aides to discuss NBCC's federal priorities and to emphasize how important breast cancer issues are to their constituents at home.
As part of the National Breast Cancer Coalition annual conference, New Hampshire representatives also attend workshops and panel discussions designed to help improve our effectiveness at the state and national levels.
Participants also learn about current breast cancer programs and initiatives from experts in research, government, academia and the private sector.
NBCC's Annual Advocacy Training Conference and Lobby Day help NHBCC's efforts by showing elected officials the grassroots strength behind our all-volunteer organization. It is essential that we become educated to influence the development of meaningful breast cancer policies. |
